Dr. Gerald J. Harris is Professor of
Ophthalmology and Chief of Orbital and Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at the
Eye Institute of the Medical College of Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital.
He was born in Philadelphia, received his medical degree and
Ophthalmology training at Northwestern University and was a Fellow in
Orbital and Oculoplastic Surgery at Columbia University. He served as a
U.S.A.F. Flight Surgeon in Southeast Asia. He is a member of the
American Society of Ophthalmic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS),
The Orbital Society, and the American Ophthalmological Society. He is a
past president of the Milwaukee Ophthalmological Society.
Dr. Harris has received the Honor Award from the American Academy of
Ophthalmology, recognizing his frequent contributions as Senior Course
Instructor. He is listed in "The Best Doctors in America", and in "The
Best Doctors in America: Midwest Region"; all editions. He is
Editor-in-Chief of "Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery". Dr.
Harris is one of 27 Fellowship Preceptors sponsored by the American
Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In addition to frequent
participation in national and international meetings, he has delivered
77 invited lectures. He is the author of 105 scientific publications.
Among other honors, he was the keynote speaker at a recent Annual
Scientific Symposium of ASOPRS. |
